Where the bugs at?

Me, I like bats, barn swallows, woodpeckers, swifts etc. for ther bug-related activities. And the local raptors and carrion eaters as well.

F@ck those berry-eatin' bastards who like to polka dot your car.

This crow has been following me around since early spring. Sometimes I feed him bread and that shitty white rice they insist you take with you when you purchase chinese take-out (eventhough you tell them you don't want their shitty rice for some reason you are required to take it home and throw it away for them). So I give it to the crow (the stupid deer likes it too). I also have a lot of marigold starts that I plant every year and I always place plastic cups around the base of the young plants to protect them from the things that will eat them or uproot them. And almost as soon as I place the plastic cups down the crow will come along and pick up the cups and fling them off to the side. And I'll replace the cups and the crow will remove them again. This will go on for several days or a couple of weeks until one of us gets tired of the little game (I always win). So thats what the crow is laughing about. He just got done pulling the plastic cups off the marigolds (eventhough he can never win).

Had a bat in the house a few nights ago. They have taken up residence in the chimney (i can see em leaving at dusk). I don't mind the bats as long as they stay outside but once them come inside the wire its time for them to flee or die. Have also seen a lot of snakes this year. More than usual for some reason. I don't mind the snakes because they mind their own bidness.

i guess our chinese shit rice is better. i also find if yu add a little water + warm it a little, it's easier to take out for leftovers. otherwise is is ok bird food.

i guess. they seem to like it. its that white passty crap that doesn't taste like anything. or maybe you could mix it with some vanilla pudding and have you some rice pudding. i can't think of much else its good for so i throw it out for the wildlife.

yes. better critter food. yeah. it is rather tasteless. birds don't seem to need flavr.

I've seen some big honking snakes around my place too. I do mind them. Very much. There's no such thing as a harmless snake because even a toothless little worm-sized black snake can cause me to break my ankle in my panicky flight from his vicinity. That said, I would never harm a snake. I just wish they'd extend me the same courtesy. Bastards!

ooh, i love snakes. and vermin.

If I lived in your neck of the woods, or swamp, I'd mind them a whole lot too. Don't have to worry about slithering venomous critters around here though (not the legless kind anyway). Biggest snake i occasionally run across is a eastern milksnake. A big 'un can stretch about 3 harmless honking feet.

here's a yoo-toob vid of a minnesota radio show interview with marcus bachmann talking about shopping for a prom dress with his daughter. fabulous!:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAYZ_y5FfBo&feature=related

obviously Dr Bachmann's practice consists mostly of him standing around the office obsorbing "the gay" away. when it comes to soaking up the gay that gets spilled around his clinic he's sort of like a big human sham-wow.

not that there's anything wrong with that.

'cept for the sham part.
