only got about 6" of snow. the rest was 2 or 3" of wet icy glop... like a snowicone. not an ice storm though. thank gawd. but still, i was hoping for a nice big traditional 2 foot snowfart (without the stinkin wind).

temps well above freezing here today too. so this side of storm more resembled an early spring noreaster than the howling artic snowbeast you got out there.

The ride home last night was an adventure. Lots of following in tire tracks and quasi-plowing with front/underbelly of the car.

The punchline was going into work today and finding a ghost town with a plowed lot.

They can take their due dates and pack 'em. No call, and yesterday the story was "we never close".

But I'm sure we'll have the opportunity to work Saturday to make up for their lack of planning.

Probably 18" around here, with some impressive drifting. The guy on the radio giving lip service to the wonderful Winter services the county provided made me want to gag.

Easy for a 1st shifter on salary to say.

Well SHIT mike, it's been getting pretty damned banana republic on the southwestern shores of Lake Michigan for a while now.

But the tax climate is improving, at least on the corporate welfare side.

But I don't like me no hurricanes, typhoons or cyclones neither.

We both live in desirable areas and climates, if you got the cash to travel at will.

Maybe some day.

Yeah, I guess it's the same all over--WI, PA, PR, Egypt--with the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. It's just a matter of degree.

guess a revolution or 2 to be expected.

mike, pansy, the rest of you all-

my favorite was someone comparing America's poverty-level citizens (for my purposes, I'd call it 25% of the population) equal in income to the well-off in India.

By that I assume they mean two Indian IT pros who both make $9/hr.

That'd make you rich by working class standards in a lot of countries. This one ain't on that list.

I don't mind working for a living in principle; I just loathe working for a fraction of family-runnin' money and hoping your spouse and/or MOL can pick up the difference to get to 100%.

Gotta love those "just come up with a budget" preachers. Sure- as long as "Shit you can't budget for" is a line item!
