SBL Nature Trail

I tried to take a night shot of the moon and the lunar eclipse from the back yard but it was too cloudy. So this is what it looked like, to the camera, just after midnight.

Overcast/snowing at our supposed viewing window. And the Bears wrapped up the division.

Showboating may make me start disliking the Eagles.

The obligatory cheer and its expenses are starting to get to me.

Don't get me wrong; Christmas was fine back when I was single and had piss-away money EVERY month, if not week. Now?

They jacked unleaded regular up to $3.09 from $2.93 somewhere in the blink of an eye. A guy from the NYT did numbers on barrel 'o crude to pump pricing, and determined $10/barrel = $.19/gallon.

Thank Gawd for the Boehner Recovery. Next thing you know, they'll be repealing the Repeal of DADT, ratifying a START treaty the Russians will consider invalid after tweaking, and poking half the people in this country- but mostly with a sharp stick to the eye.

Shortest day of the year? Hope it feels that way at work- aka the home of No News re: Christmas party, year-end (formerly quarterly) bonus, and the 2011 insurance coverage.

Expect for bad things to happen, and you won't be disappointed, I say.

Had I the option, pansy, I would have checked it out.

Not long now until cable vs. internet tv becomes the next battle for control of our cash.

We did end up with a (small) live tree. The goats will thank us in about 3 weeks.

They done did a end run on my old ass. With the pickup out of service, at least the mo-in-law vehicle got any potential roof creases.

I'm gonna start up a religion that celebrates the fictional birthday or historic event around the 1st of summer. Or do the Rastas already got dibs on that?

yup, that sure was a dick-head thing to do.

Gas around here is in the $3.13 - 3.23 range. I stopped spending time and money and aggravation on the christmas shopping present buying orgy season years ago. And its a lot more enjoyable since. So now i buy a present for my father and a couple other things and i'm done with it. I plop a tree in the living room (thats the best part for me) and hang up a couple balsam wreaths (my nod to tradition) round up 5 pounds of chicken livers some bacon and water chestnuts to make rumaki (my contribution to the pagan ritual christmas day family oceania buffet) and booze (which i'm gonna buy even if it ain't christmas) and there ya have it. I can really get away with it all for just a little over a hundred bucks if I'm careful. Excluding the booze, which i'm gonna buy anyway.

Expect for bad things to happen, and you won't be disappointed, I say.

If you really believed that you wouldn't be disappointed in the Eagles.

June 20, Sack of Baltimore Day! (Algerian pirates attacked Ireland). Excepting the part about Algerian pirates and Ireland I think people from Cleveland might be into getting behind a holiday like that.

mike in pr said...

Yup, back in PR after 4 mos. in NY/PA area. Fall was nice but the weather in Nov. and Dec. damn near killed me before the cancer. Now I'm appreciating PR winter weather more than ever.

Started chemo in Oct. and have since been able to make arrangegents to have the treatment continued here for the next three months. Then some retesting and revaluation.

mike-

best present this year.

The brother has basically a clean bill of health re; myeloma, but I lost an uncle in the span of 15 days after a metastatized melanoma diagnosis.

May your ailment fall into the full hourglass variety. Living a good clean lifestyle hasn't helped anyone I know!

Merry Merry.
