i haven't seen any caterpillars this year. think the hair hurted my marigolds a little. the onions didn't do well, but taters happy. cherry toms not turning red.

hair in the marigolds? i've never had much luck with onions either. not the best soil for them probably. but my garlic was really good this year. and the tomatoes are the best i've seen in years (because of all the sunny rainless days i think). peppers are finally looking good and hopefully it will stay warm long enough for them to turn red.

your tomatoes might be having trouble because of all the rain you've had this year. They like a lot of sun to turn red. A lot of water (especially in rich soil) can produce a lot of green growth and take longer for the fruit to develop and ripen. you could always try to ripen some off the vine.

oops. hail. fun typing with dyslexia. the toms had too much shade. cut away the nip and little balls everywhere. just green. been sunny lately.

Not too much gardening going on here. Visited my X-neighbor at the old farmhouse area who has a few acre area, and he's got sciatic nerve problems.

One of those guys who just needs to stay busy, but enjoys catching the occasional buzz ala Milwaukee's Beast Light, Korbel brandy, or (shudder!) Old Thompson whiskey- and so forth.

The guy had major problems putting on unlaced Reeboks, but OH YEAH, I'm goin' in!

I hope he learns to kick it back a notch when his body starts going through "the change". No wonder you see so many hobbled-up old guys around here; I work with them.

Middle aged Midwestern manufacturing workers. "hey Dad, when someone uses the term 'Dying Breed', do they mean extinction of a species, or what?"

Everybody could use a break from the rigors of a working class schedule now and again. Put on "Sedated" by the Ramones and let the healing begin.
