A little more. It all helped a lot though. No real local corn around here yet - mostly what they call local at this point comes up from southern PA. My earliest corn won't be ready until the 2nd or 3rd week of August. Tomatoes look good too... they love the heat. Big improvement over last year when the blights killed every last plant. Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong there. And the peppers look much better after the rain. I was getting worried about them. Blueberries are ready too. Have to get me some of those picked.

Decent weather here today, first since nigh on feels like forever.

farmer, I hope you gets more precipitation in moderation-

and mike, I hope you catch a break.

Gotta go assist in helping the animals escape the not-so-friendly confines of the fair grounds. Maybe that'll help quiet down the left-behinders here.

Lots of "bleahh! bleahhhhh!" (goat-ese for "where the hell IS everyone?")

I don't want to jinx anything from the soon-to-be-concluded County fair experience, but the wife tells me Winger Uncle Ted got cut off by a higher authority about 15 minutes in; I'm guessing that still got him the full check.

But it's a Win-Win if he was saving his pseudo-patriot BullShit for later in the show.

did the kids win any prizes this year?

No fainting goats.

I think they stacked up 5 or 6 trophies; County gets your hopes up so they may be dashed at the State level- unless you live in a county with bonafide goat dairy owners.

The wife is obligated to either sell or purchase 4-H raffle tickets each year. You can just do the buyout for $50 or actually enter the drawing for 10 bucks more, so-

she used our name, the mo-in-law, and a few between her brother & sister. The bro hit it for $500 on a ticket he didn't buy.

At least I can truthfully tell people that if decide to be a ticket pimp next year.
