Could be the Storm Demon.

Tree snow in the front yard today. I thought we left that air-filter-clogging cottonwood at our old house.

Sort of white bark, but without the canoe-building ability of a birch in texture.

sounds fluffy.

That it is, pansy. It floats down from 10 or 20 feet up the tree, and blankets the entire front quarter of a 3 acre lot. Not deeply, but it floats out at least 150' on a 5mph breeze, and rounds corners when the wind shifts.

If you thinned out a cotton ball to this type of density, it'd probably be hardball or softball sized.

Looks cool, hopefully not an allergen to anyone. Or invasion of the pod people.

Yes sir, cottonwood blizzards are cool. haven't seen one yet this year but noticed a lot of catkins laying around yesterday. the saplings make good bean poles and trellis structures too... because they are fiberous and flexible. And the oyster mushrooms like to grow on the old dead ones.

pic's of Dr.S and I's front yard from the flood on my page. Dr.S is working 12 hr shifts no days off due to state of emergency, please excuse his absence. He is at the only open water plant in nashvegas. xx

PS Time? Shouldn't she qualify for a playboy page by now? Grandma's gone wild?

the only open water plant
Heard that on the news and wondered which one doc might be at. assuming too you are on high ground (sanitarium on the hill and all). like to take some of that water off your hands if i could. could use it here.

Hey, you kids, no body-surfing in the creek after 10pm!

keep safe. my aunt had a house built above a river that had a waterfall off to the north and near the, um, burgess falls? and i wonder how it looked this week.
the house was above it, but shit.

Jenn said...

Pansypoo - I read him this comment when he got up, he said he has heard ov Burgess Falls but not in relation to this storm. Sorry, couldnt be more help.

pansypoo said...

no biggie, gotta ask my aunt if she has talked to her former neighbor.

burgess is in, um, sparta county i think. pretty, tho there's a nicer water fall i went to. big bowl. with all the old mill boulders think the house is safe. just would love to see aftermath. how's it in nashville? we have big rain up here(8 in an hour once) luckily WI is a big sponge.

Blogger could be storing comments in its cheeks again.

Wait for those downpours and keep that full coverage on a vehicle you want to part with.

And it's off to the intersection that becomes a swimmin'hole!

the farmer said...

No swimmin'hole here this weekend. its snowing here right now.

Yup, looks like Blogger's Shitty comment system has its head up its own ass again.

A trip to the local Mexican Ristorante after a little re-arranging in the sheds.

All in all, a good Mothers Day. No guests, therefor no house cleaning.

I think the cheesecake cost more than the burritos that don't leave room for cheesecake. USA!USA!

Nothing like a good family-style bloat to make life seem worthwhile.
