The Snake is in the Swimmin Hole!

The Piper is in the Garden... The Blueberries in Alaska Ripen in the Spring...

Palin / Facebook Notes:
Just When Ya Think It Can’t Get Any More “Interesting”... Welcome, Neighbor! Monday at 10:17pm

Spring has sprung in Alaska, and with this beautiful season comes the news today that the Palins have a new neighbor! Welcome, Joe McGinniss!

Yes, that Joe McGinniss. Here he is – about 15 feet away on the neighbor’s rented deck overlooking my children’s play area and my kitchen window. Maybe we’ll welcome him with a homemade blueberry pie tomorrow so he’ll know how friendly Alaskans are.

We found out the good news today. Upon my family’s return this morning from endorsement rallies and speeches in the Lower 48 states, I finally got the chance to tackle my garden and lawn this evening! So, putting on the shorts and tank top to catch that too-brief northern summer sun and placing a giddy Trig in his toddler backpack for a lawn-mowing adventure, I looked up in surprise to see a “new neighbor” overlooking my property just a stone’s throw away. Needless to say, our outdoor adventure ended quickly after Todd went to introduce himself to the stranger who was peering in...

Joe announced to Todd that he’s moved in right next door to us. He’s rented the place for the next five months or so. He moved up all the way from Massachusetts to live right next to us – while he writes a book about me. Knowing of his many other scathing pieces of “journalism” (including the bizarre anti-Palin administration oil development pieces that resulted in my Department of Natural Resources announcing that his work is the most twisted energy-related yellow journalism they’d ever encountered), we’re sure to have a doozey to look forward to with this treasure he’s penning. Wonder what kind of material he’ll gather while overlooking Piper’s bedroom, my little garden, and the family’s swimming hole?

Welcome, Joe! It’ll be a great summer – come borrow a cup of sugar if ever you need some sweetener. And you know what they say about “fences make for good neighbors”? Well, we’ll get started on that tall fence tomorrow, and I’ll try to keep Trig’s squeals down to a quiet giggle so we don’t disturb your peaceful summer. Enjoy!

Lord Rushbo: The Prefect from Palm Beach

Heard about this via Balloon Juice:
"Largely decorated by Limbaugh himself, [his Palm Beach house] reflects the things and places he has seen and admired. A massive chandelier in the dining room, for example, is a replica of the one that hung in the lobby of New York's Plaza Hotel. The vast salon is meant to suggest Versailles. The main guest suite, which I didn't visit, is an exact replica of the Presidential Suite at the Hotel George V in Paris. There is a full suit of armor on display, as well as a life-size oil painting of El Rushbo. Fragrant candles burned throughout the house, a daily home-from-the-wars ritual." - [WaPo]

Presidential Suite at Hotel George V in Paris

Le Roi Soleil Limbaugh's gaudy petit appartement du NYC chambers on 5th Avenue were for sale a a couple of months ago.

Fanfare for the Common Dittohead:

Haint it funny that the prince consort of movement conservatism and the current Republican Party would find so much comfort in poofy French replica pomposity. I'll bet he has a boxwood shrub in a c-ment planter right on the front porch too. And a fountain or two also too. I wonder how many jets of water he has in the old place.

Limbaugh has skillfully conjured for his listeners a world in which they are disdained and despised by mysterious elites -- a world in which Limbaugh's $4,000 bottles of wine do not exclude him from the life of the common man.

Sarah Palin, take notes.

Palin: random babble...

Hunting for applause lines:
"The mama grizzlies, they rise up," she said, to laughter. "You thought pit bulls are tough. You don't want to mess with the mama grizzlies. And I think there are a whole lot of those in this room." [ WaPo ]

I'll bet the pit bull toilet seat cover is a real crowd pleaser also too.

PNS Investigative Report: What do we really know about US Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts?

Pat Buchanan (among others) helps us better understand women who play professional golf softball and what we can infer about someone who enjoys that kind of life-style experience:

see video Via Daily Kos

Tonight, Pat Buchanan joins the discussion with MR. P-Niss to examine the issue of what we can conclude about Chief Justice John G. Roberts based upon the Chief Justice's own personal past history:

Roberts attended Notre Dame Elementary School, a Roman Catholic grade school in Long Beach, and then La Lumiere School, a Roman Catholic boarding school in LaPorte, Indiana and was an excellent student and athlete. He studied five years of Latin (in his four years) and some French, and was known for his devotion to his studies. [---] ...and was a Regional Champion in wrestling. He participated in choir and drama,...

We have learned that Justice Roberts was a wrestler. A sport that entails tumbling around on a hard rubber floor mat in compromising positions with other sweaty young men wearing skintight lycra, spandex or nylon outfits called singlets:
There are three different traditional "cuts" to wrestling singlets: the high cut, the fila cut, and the low cut. The high cut covers most of the chest and reaches up to the under-arms on the side. The fila cut is like the high cut but does not rise up as high beneath the arms. The low cut singlet is a revealing singlet, that allows greater range of mobility, keeps its wearer cooler, tends to be more comfortable when not on the mat (wrestlers tend to wear their singlets under their clothes nearly all day in some circumstances). The low cut reaches down to the middle abdomen in the front, reaches down to the hips on the sides, and features a single strap that runs up the back that is very thin. - [ wiki ]

In addition to his interests in all male wrestling and tight fitting elastane fashionwear Judge Roberts "participated in choir and drama." And, he speaks French!

How fabulous is that? Well, I dunno about you but if I had an eye for gayspotting like Pat Buchanan does I'd say its pretty dang fabulous.

And lets not forget that Justice Roberts is also a devout Catholic who attended Catholic boarding school as a boy. I don't think I need to explain to anyone where that sort of inference may lead.

I'm not suggesting that Justice Roberts spends his free time these days lounging around his judicial chamber in a nylon catsuit sipping expensive Beaujolais, listening to Edith Piaf recordings, and thinking back fondly on all those after school workouts spent practicing submission holds with assistant coach Brother Steve - but - then again, and afterall, what do we really know about Chief Justice John G. Roberts?

We'll ask Pat Buchanan, who knows a thing or two about this kind of analysis and what kind of conclusions we can reach as a result, to weigh in on the matter.

Over to you, Pat.
