I suppose, if John J. Audubon were doomed for eternity to some avian Hell - punishment for all those innocent bird families he destroyed in the name of art and ornithology - his 226th birthday celebration party might look something like this:
Guests would be invited.
A cake of masticated mealworms, decorated with little bluebird eggs and candles made of rendered suet, would be brought in and placed in front of him by an owl named Hooter.
And everyone would sing...
Happy Birthday to yoooooo!
Or something like that.
But really: photos are screen captures of baby owls from the baby owl cam. Freaky looking ain't they.

They won't be this cute for long.
farmer- catch Sean Duffy's town hall video?
What An Asshole. And I don't mean to insult any hemmaroidal infrastructures by use of the term.
I hear tell after a few of the Triumphant Returns to their districts, the RNC sent out a memo telling their folks to AVOID face time with the constituents, at least on-camera.
I also like Larry O'D saying "it sounds like Jesus would be cool with a 39.6% tax rate on people making over $250K" in response to Rush's post-Easter bullshit.
He probably substituted Oxycontin for cloves on his ham.
If Limbaugh eats pork, would that make him a cannibal?
render unto caesar what is his is not in the GOP bible.

an onion i planted last year is up in the garden. healthy catnip too. bit wet, but the rhubarb is almost ready!!!
No big excitement here, save for a few trips to Farm & Fleet.
Amazing how much better an external snap ring pliers works compared to trying to "make do" with the internal variety.
Best $13 I ever spent.
Now it's tractor tubin' time!
rhubarb here needs maybe a couple more weeks but looks good. Catnip looks good too. everything else pretty much coming up on schedule. Spent some time yesterday yanking up multiflora rose. What a fuckin pain in the ass that stuff is. Need a goat!
And looks like that OBL dood finally ran into the reaper also too.

multiflora rose? too wet to turn over the garden yet. made a seded/plant order tho. need to ise up last years corn. hmm. browned butter on peas in the pod?
multiflora rose?
Rambler Rose. its a real invasive type of wild rose that grows into big thorny tangles. Its pretty but it spreads like crazy. Another invasive import like Japonica Honeysuckle. Heres a photo of some:

...peas in the pod?
snow peas. a little late to plant those but you might get away with it. you should plant some baby leaf spinach and some 30-40 day leaf lettuce. Nows the time to do it before it gets to warm. One thing I've noticed lately (especially this year) is that the seeds for sale in the stores are much less expensive than the same seed in the catalogs. Especially for brands like Burpee (which are really expensive from the catalog especially when you add in a $6-8 shipping charge). I bought a lot of 2011 Burpee seed packs this year for $1 or less (discounted 50-60% right from the get-go) for the same varieties being offered in their catalog for $2.50-4 per pack. Not sure whats up with that but I'll take it. Also, a lot of seed will last for years if you keep it dry and warm - especially pepper and tomato, squash and pumpkins. So if you see some seed packed for 2011 on sale later this summer (10 packs for $1) you can buy it and save it for next year. It'll grow. Flower seed too.

no, old fashioned peas. steamed in the pod. heavily buttered and salt and start to suck out the peas. soon SOON. browned butter on noodles bad. soso on rice. good on popcorn better if said popcorn has been sugared + salted.. browned butter always best on broccoli or cauliflower.
oh, ok. i never tried that with regular peas. I did the browned butter on the broccoli thing for dinner though. It was good.

Gotta get G-Dub ta hep' ya clear that scrub brush, farmer.
So Rambler Rose grows like Kudzu or Creeping Charlie?
Or wild black raspberry berry brambles. Spreads by seed and runners and shoots etc... anyway it can. Plus it can get to be 4-6-10 feet tall. Sometimes ya can get a grubbing chain around the base and winch them out like you can with the honeysuckle but you still might have to dig out some of it.
Gotta get G-Dub ta hep' ya clear that scrub brush
Drop him right in the middle of it with a sand wedge and let him fight his way out.
