Yes, they are very cute and look cute in any backyard. And I have lots of them. Plenty more than i need. Which is why I'm thinking of starting a Squirrel of the Month Club. So if anyone wants to sign up for that...
@pansy: I believe ya. i've seen it happen too. have a hawk stalking the feeder now. not sure exactly what kind though. but probably a sharp shinned hawk. they like to stake out bird feeders. Or maybe a kestrel. usually the crows will show up and harass him/her enough that he/she leaves. but i worry that he might have his eye on the flicker. he can have all the mourning doves he wants just as long as he leaves the frickin flicker alone.
i got red ones and grey ones. i got 3 big black walnut trees and a whole bunch of big norway spruce with the big pine cones (pine nuts) out back so in the fall its like harvest bonanza buffet for squirrels. used to have a squirrel family that lived in the ceiling upstairs and in the fall they would roll the walnuts around up their so it sounded like golf balls rolling around above your head. i'd bang on the ceiling and yell knock it off up there you bastards and they'd stop for about 2 minutes and then the walnuts would start rolling again. i kind of miss them to be honest. better than having a bat colony above your ceiling thats for damn sure.
Vinny Carwash - Johnny Pizza - Tony Bagels... big mobster roundup in NY/NJ/RI yesterday too. I love these things because its the only reason i can ever find to justify buying the Daily News or the NYPost and because it will probably unleash another round of scary fun mafia goon movies (not to mention reruns of previous mafia goon movies).
pansy- think back to $4.29/gallon gas and Paulson pooh-poohing the term "speculators" in favor of not letting big government getting between "individual investors" and their ill-gotten gains.
Same Shit, Different Year. Deja Vu for all, I promise.
And them with NO attention span can blame it all on the librulz, agin!
Ya sure you don't need a few dozen cats FedEx'ed your way, farmer?

no red ones down here. my grandpa hated them. soooooooo noisy. once while alone saw a hawk grab 1 for lunch. nobody believed me.
I'm more than ready to enter into a cat-fer-squirrel swap, farmer.
You can set the exchange rate. Squirrel hunters available (the baggage includes them going after anything else, be it birds, rabbits, chippies, etc).
And (mostly) I hope you like the color Orange.
Good to see Betty visit now & then, too.

Oh no ya don't. A thanks for the box of squirrels note will be just fine. No more cat swaps for me.

Yup, i agree. I think Betty understands these things. She had some kind of menacing knave gecko (or something like that) break into her home recently.
